ELIGIBILITY FOR RECORDS, BESTS AND AWARDS

For Club Road Records the race needs to have a UKA Licence. A requirement of UKA Rules and the licensing process is that all road races over specific distances held in the UK must have their distance measured by a UKA accredited course measurer.

The UKA Rules also state that for records purposes the start and finish points of a course, measured along a theoretical straight line between them, shall not be further apart than 50% of the race distance and the overall decrease in elevation between the start and finish shall not exceed 1:1000, i.e. 1m per km (0.1%).

The only races that do not need a certificate of measurement are those which do not advertise a distance (e.g. a 6 hour race), or those which are multi-terrain and therefore cannot be guaranteed to be accurate. Records set at such races will be termed Club Bests.

For Club Road Records, distances recognised by the following bodies shall be recorded - WA, UKA, EAA, WMA, EMA, BMAF, ARRS and Run Britain (British Athletics).

For Club Outdoor Track Records, the following distances will be recognised - 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 5000 and 10000 meters, 1 mile, 15k, 20k, 25k, 30k, 50k, 100k and 1, 2, 6, 12, 24, and 48 hours, and six days as per UKA Rules.

For Club Indoor Track Records, the following distances will be recognised – 50, 60, 200, 400, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 and 5000 meters, 1 mile as per UKA Rules.

For Club Multi-Terrain Records, distances recognised by the following bodies shall be recorded as Club Bests - IAU, ITRA, WMRA, ECCA and Run Britain (British Athletics).
